Unity Missionary Baptist Church was established in 1969.
The new church initially met in the homes of the founding members. However, none of the members had a home large enough to comfortably accommodate the assembly. A member approached St. Elizabeth’s Church of God By Faith in Apopka about the usage of their available church facility and they agreed.
David Washington was installed as Pastor in 1969. In 1971, Sunday worship at St Elizabeth's ended when the current facility on 19th Street in Apopka was acquired.
David Washington remained as Pastor until 1992. After several months of searching for a new pastor, John Hickson was installed as Pastor and served from 1993 through 1995.
In 1996, Sam Hargrove was installed as Pastor. Under the great leadership of Brother Hargrove, the members of Unity are focused on reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and building alliances with strong Bible-based churches and missions.
